The 2-story building, which took its name from the railroad line, was the first hotel in town. 15 miles away lies the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park, with the largest grouping of cliff dwellings built by the Ancient Pueblan Indians. A few blocks away lies one entrance to McPhee Reservoir, the second largest lake in Colorado. Also a few blocks away is great fly fishing in the Dolores River. Telluride is 60 miles north, on the San Juan Skyway.
This charming historic property sits on the corner of the town square of Dolores, Co. Share the history of the area, and perhaps sleep in the room Teddy Roosevelt stayed in when he visited Mesa Verde. Perhaps you’d like the Zane Grey suite, where he stayed in 1911, as he was writing "Rider’s of the Purple Sage".
